1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and the person who publishes Janam Kundli under the name ADVIKA Magnus, San Diego, California, USA ("we", "us"). Janam Kundli (the "Service") is a free, non-commercial personal project shared for fun; it is not a business, and nothing is sold. By using the Service you accept these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What the Service is

The Service calculates a Vedic (sidereal) birth chart from details you enter and shows general interpretations drawn from traditional Indian astrology. Astrology is a cultural and spiritual tradition; its interpretations are not scientifically established. Readings are generated automatically from general rules, are not prepared by a person for you, and may be incomplete or inaccurate.

3. Not professional advice

For entertainment and self-reflection purposes only. Nothing in the Service is medical, mental-health, legal, financial, investment, tax, career or relationship advice. Do not use it to diagnose or treat any condition, or to make important decisions about health, money, education, employment, marriage or other relationships. Always consult a qualified professional. If you are in crisis or thinking of harming yourself, contact local emergency services or a helpline immediately.

The Service makes no prediction or promise about any future event, and does not recommend or sell remedies, rituals, gemstones, pujas or other products. No reading should be taken as a claim that any object, ritual or practice can cure, prevent or change anything.

4. Who may use the Service

Anyone may use the Service as a guest. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian. Accounts are only for people aged 18 or older. Each account is personal: keep the devices that hold your passkey secure, and tell us if you think your account has been misused.

5. Other people's details

Only enter, save or share another person's birth details if you have their permission, or are their parent or legal guardian. You must not use the Service to harass, profile, discriminate against or make decisions about other people, including for employment, tenancy, credit, insurance or marriage decisions.

6. Acceptable use

You must not: use the Service unlawfully; access it with bots, scrapers or other automated means; overload, probe, attack or bypass its security or rate limits; interfere with other users; impersonate anyone; or copy, resell or redistribute the readings or the Service, except to share your own report for personal, non-commercial purposes. We may suspend or delete accounts and block access that breaks these rules or the law.

7. Our content and third-party components

The reading texts, design, code and compilation of the Service are owned by ADVIKA Magnus and protected by copyright. You may print or save your own report for personal use. Open-source software, fonts and data used in the Service are used under their licences, listed on the Credits & licences page. Traditional astrological concepts (signs, nakshatras, yogas and the dasha system) belong to India's shared cultural heritage; our explanations of them are our own original writing.

8. What you contribute

Feedback and questions you send are optional. If you contribute them through research sharing, you keep any rights you have in them and give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, analyse and use them, in pseudonymous form, to operate, evaluate and improve the Service and to develop and train future models and services, as described in the Privacy Policy. Withdrawing consent stops any future use. Do not send content that is unlawful, infringes anyone's rights, or contains personal information about others.

9. Availability and changes

The Service is provided free of charge. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, and will give reasonable notice where practical for account features. Paid features, if introduced, will have separate terms that you must accept before purchase.

10. Disclaimer: use at your own risk

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. YOU USE THE SERVICE ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

In particular, we take no responsibility for: the content or accuracy of any reading or calculation (including errors in birth time, place, time-zone or astronomical data); any decision, action or inaction by you or anyone else based on the Service; any emotional distress caused by a reading; how other people use charts or reports you share; the availability of the Service; or the loss of saved charts, accounts or other data. Keep your own copy (Print / Save PDF) of anything you want to keep.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE LOSS, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS ARISING FROM DECISIONS OR ACTIONS YOU OR OTHERS TAKE BASED ON A READING. Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total liability for all claims relating to this free Service is limited to US$10 (or the equivalent in your currency). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct, or affects your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.

12. Responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for, and to reimburse us for reasonable losses caused by, your breach of section 5 or 6 or your unlawful use of the Service. This does not apply to consumers where local law does not allow it.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts in San Diego County, California have jurisdiction. This does not take away any mandatory consumer protection that applies where you live: if you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland you may also bring proceedings in your country of residence, and consumers in India keep their rights under the Consumer Protection Act 2019, including to file a complaint where they live. Before starting any dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.

14. Ending use

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the account page. Sections 3, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 continue after your use ends.

15. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the free Service. We may update these terms; the effective date above will change, and continued use after an update means you accept it. For material changes affecting accounts, we will show a notice on the site.
